Costco really needs to end this hellish beginning to a job and other companies need to compete wage and benefits wise so there isn’t this battle to work there. It really feels like you pledged to a frat house and you’re hazed until you’re one of them. The pay and benefits are objectively stellar, but the nightmare you have to go through to get there is rough. I can only assume it’s arbitrary how they pick who stays as so many bust their butts to stay and don’t get kept.
Dozens are hired on fighting for the chance to get a permanent job. Beyond unorganized with their box situation, have you running around looking for them even when there’s ten person lines. Cashiers barely make eye contact with you as your just a measly temp. Horrible cold, yelled at by Amy “don’t know what to tell you!” And pushed out into winter. Nowadays it's just a money hungry corporate greed machine with conniving managers. 10 years ago I would've recommended Costco to anyone. For employees who have been with Costco for so long, it's sad because we are sort of trapped now because after years and years of raises it's hard to leave and go find something comparable without literally cutting our income in half. But the "big" managers are all greedy with no compassion for anyone unless it benefits them. This chain of stores has been selling a very wide range of home appliances, kitchenware and accessories for many years.
